The ‘Heart of Peninsula Care Awards’, launched in 2014, celebrate the special individuals and teams who work in the care industry. Their aim is to give the recognition that is deserved and to make care staff feel as special as they make the people in their care feel every day.
Friday 3rd November 2017 saw the fourth Heart of Peninsula Care Awards at the Marine Court Hotel, Bangor. This years event was hosted by UTV’s Pamela Ballantine.
Frances McKernon, Unit Manager of Clifton Care Home was awarded Care Home Manager of the Year. The team based at Clifton House, Belfast were delighted with the recognition for the dedication Frances has shown in her 27 years’ service to the residents of the Home.
Frances was thrilled to receive the award, she said, “I was so shocked and surprised when they read out my name. The award is recognition of all the great staff and residents I have worked with throughout my career and I am so proud of the work that we continue to do at Clifton Care Home.”
Paula Reynolds, Chief Executive of Belfast Charitable Society and Clifton House congratulated Frances saying; “We are absolutely delighted to see Frances achieve Care Manager of the Year, she is such a deserving winner of this award. I believe that Frances was made for this position because she cares deeply and sees it as being more than just a job. As a Care Manager, she pours her heart and soul into Clifton Residential and has everything running to the highest possible standard for both residents and staff, we are so very thankful to have Frances as part of our team and now as Care Manager of the Year.”
